About Soda Works Co.
Soda Works Co. makes small-batch soda syrups and sells the glass and hardware that goes with them. The idea is simple: a good soda is a good syrup and cold carbonated water, and both are better when you make them at home.
How the syrups are made
We cook in short runs rather than long ones. Cola is built on citrus oils, cinnamon bark and vanilla rather than a single flavour concentrate. The ginger is pressed fresh. The fruit syrups are cooked down far enough to hold their colour without needing anything to fix it. Everything is bottled cold and dated on the label.
The rest of the shelf
Alongside the syrups we carry the practical parts of a home soda bar — swing-top bottles that survive carbonation, fluted tumblers heavy enough not to skate across a counter, a bar spoon with some weight to it, and countertop carbonation kits for people who would rather not keep buying sparkling water in plastic.
Glass we reuse
A fair amount of what we sell is reclaimed rather than new. The swing-top bottles are refurbished returnables — sorted, stripped, sterilised and fitted with fresh gaskets — and the crates are built from reclaimed pine. Upcycling the glass is cheaper than making it, and it is the reason a bottle rated for carbonation costs what it does here.
Gifting
A crate of syrups and glasses turns out to be an easy gift, so we build them properly: stencilled pine, wood wool, and enough room that nothing rattles. The larger crates are made for corporate gifting, and they ship with blank enclosure cards.
How we sell
Direct to you, from our own packing room in the United States. No subscriptions, no memberships, and no alcohol — our syrups are soft-drink concentrates.
